Alexandria School Board adopts calendars for next two school years – Alexandria Echo Press

ALEXANDRIA — At its regular meeting held on February 28, the Alexandria School Board adopted the calendars for the next two school years.

Darcy Josephson, Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning, updated the board on the planning criteria that guided the work of the District Calendar Committee – a committee comprised of district, school and parent representatives. .

The 2022-23 school year at Alexandria Public Schools will begin on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 for all K-12 students. The dates on which there will be no school for all students in 2022-23 are as follows: October 20-21, November 7, 24-25, December 23-January 2, January 16, February 17 and 20, April 6, May 7 and 10 and 29. Three scheduled two-hour late departures (used for staff training or collaboration) will take place on September 28, February 1 and March 29. The last day of school is June 1 and graduation will take place on June 2.

The 2023-24 school year at Alexandria Public Schools will begin on Tuesday, September 5, 2024 for all K-12 students. The dates when there will be no school for all students in 2023-2024 are as follows: October 19-20, November 6, 23-24, December 22-January 20. January 2, 15, February 16 and 19, March 28-29, April 1 and May 27. The three scheduled two-hour late departures will take place on September 27, February 7 and April 10. The last day of school and graduation will be May 31.
